June 28, 2025(1 event) Les Misérables – Since its pre-Broadway run at the Kennedy Center in 1986, Les Misérables has changed the world of musical theater. Now, Cameron Mackintosh’s acclaimed production of Boublil & Schönberg’s Tony Award-winning phenomenon returns to the Opera House after its sold-out run in 2023. Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, the musical tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice, and redemption—a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. 2700 F Street NW Washington, DC 20566 202-416-8727 |

July 3, 2025(1 event) The Ride Ahead – This event is part of the 2025 Smithsonian Folklife Festival. Join us for a screening of The Ride Ahead, a documentary by Emmy-Award winning father-son filmmaker duo Samuel and Dan Habib. The Ride Ahead follows Samuel Habib, a typical twenty-one-year-old, itching to move out, start a career, and find love. But no one tells you how to be an adult, let alone an adult with a disability. Following the screening, Samuel and Dan will be joined by lawyer-scholar-activist and community organizer Ly Xīnzhèn M. Zhǎngsūn Brown (they/them) for a post-film discussion with the audience. ASL interpretation, live real-time (CART) captioning, open audio description, and assisted listening will be available for this event.
